June 14, 1954 - During Voyage #56, after leaving New York and three days before arriving in Rio, a baby was born to Walter and Lourdes von Kruger.  The baby was named William Thomas after the doctor  who delivered him and the Captain of the ship (William Stevenson, MD and Captain Thomas Simmons).  The nurse on the left has been identified as Ruth Conley by Captain Harold Vanderploeg.
