PRIOR HISTORY: Built new for Moore-McCormack.

SUBSEQUENT HISTORY: Went to  MARAD in 1980 as USNS Southern Cross T-AK285. September 1984 to Ready Reserve Fleet. 2000 to National Defense Reserve Fleet (NDRF) and in October 2005 was being stripped for scrapping.
